Karen Harper's career as a fiction writer began in 1982 with the publication of her first novel, Island ecstasy. Since then she has published over forty novels and novellas. Working mostly within the romance genre, Harper has explored historical romances, historical mysteries, and romantic suspense, notably those set in Ohio's Amish country (Down to the bone, Dark road home, Dark harvest). Her recent series of historic mysteries feature Queen Elizabeth I as amateur sleuth (The poyson garden, Twy...
